Postcard script ideas (~25 words)
1. The next time the government violates one of your orders, follow through
with sanctions up to and including holding them in contempt.
2. ICE has been violating court orders here in MA. Please use your authority to
hold them in contempt when they do.
3. ICE has been violating the 4th amendment by failing to return people’s
documents when released from custody. Please sanction them for doing so.
4. Please stop accepting statements of fact from ICE, CBP and DHS unless
made under oath by a named individual.
5. ICE, nearly universally, does not return people’s documents. When ordering
a release, explicitly order their personal effects returned.
6. ICE transfers people out-of-state to deny due process. Issue a stay of
transfer or removal for each habeas case with a penalty for violation.
7. ICE has regularly failed to return people’s personal effects upon release.
Order them to do so in a timely fashion and sanction any violations.
8. When issuing any court order on a habeas case, include the penalty for
non-compliance. ICE cannot be trusted to follow court orders.
9. For all habeas cases, issue a stay of transfer or removal out of MA. ICE has
shown that they will use out-of-state transfers to deny due process.
10. ICE has repeatedly violated court orders in MA habeas cases (scan QR code
on front). ICE must face consequences or they will DO IT AGAIN.
11. Our gov’t agencies are not acting in good faith. When they violate orders,
please use your authority to hold them in contempt.
12. For all habeas cases, issue a ‘no retribution’ order upon assignment and
reiterate that order upon the conclusion of the case.
13. When ordering a release, include an order that ICE is not to employ
electronic monitoring and note a penalty if the order is violated.
14. Hold any official suspected of perjury in contempt, refer for prosecution,
and appoint an impartial prosecutor.
